Organic Neem Oil
The Neem Tree is recognized by the World Health Organisation and United Nations Environmental Programme report (WHO/ENEP 1989) as one of the most promising trees of the 21st century because of its great potential in the fields of Pest Management, Environmental Protection and Medicine.
Neem Oil
Neem oil is extracted from the seeds of the neem fruit. The neem kernel extract is the most useful part of the neem as it contains the maximum pesticide ingredients. The Azadirachtin content in the neem oil is more potent and accounts for more than 90% of the pesticide properties. It has insecticidal and medicinal properties due to which it has been used for thousands of years in pest control, cosmetics, medicine, etc.
As neem is very bitter in taste it also works as an antifeedant, thus making the leaves sprayed with it very distasteful for the bugs to eat. The bugs choose to starve themselves rather than eat the leaves treated with neem. Neem oil is bio-degradable and has proven to be non-toxic to mammals, birds, bees or earthworms. It breaks down easily and quickly.
Neem oil contains Azadirachtin and other Triterpenes like Salannin, Meliantriol, Nimbin, Nimbidin and others. It controls nearly 300 species of insect pests and diseases.
Several tests show that the extracts possess insect anti-feedant, insect-growth disruption, nematicidal, fungicidal, bactericidal, anti-inflammatory, anti-tumour, immuno-stimulating and various other properties.
How Neem Oil Works:
- Inhibits the development of eggs
- Disrupts the mating of larvae
- Sterilizes the adult insects and pests
- Prevents the female pests from laying eggs
- Prevents insect from swallowing by reducing gut mobility
- Stops insect feeding
- Finally kills adult and larvae of insects and pests
